The President of the King's Union is its most senior executive officer, responsible for its strategic direction and public representation. They direct the appointed officers and ensure that the Society’s objectives are clearly defined and more crucially, effectively pursued. Oft selected as the Union's spokesperson, the President represents the Union in all official external communications. They also oversee the planning and execution of major Society events, including weekly debates, high-profile speaker engagements, and social functions, while ensuring that all officers fulfil the duties outlined in our Founding Charter. It is also worth noting that the President has the ability to veto any motion involving the Standing Committee that violates the Charter or she/he determines acts against the Society’s best interests.
Mustafa Dassu is the President of the Union, studying Political Economy. He serves as an Academic Representative for his course and writes for ROAR News. Having founded the Union in November 2025, he is excited to take things to the next level and give King's College London the prestigious debating chamber that it deserves alongside the committee.
